Hello from Forestburg!
Hello Troop 184 Families!
Greetings from beautiful Forestburg Scout Reservation!
We've successfully completed the first day and night of summer camp! Our check-in and camp tour went well, we set up campsite in record time, and the scouts are all getting accustomed to camp life.
This morning's breakfast was the first meal we cooked in camp (Sunday dinner is prepared and delivered to us by the camp). It's a harsh reality to face when the alarms start going off at 6:00am. Fortunately, the routine quickly comes back to the veterans as the newer scouts get used to the pace of patrol cooking.
The scouts are now getting themselves into merit badge class mode. The first classes (one hour each) started at 9:00am and go through 12:30pm, and then the afternoon class is from 2:30pm. There are also longer classes (1.5 hours each) starting at 9:00am, 11:00am and 2:30pm.
The weather was a little sketchy yesterday with pockets of rain through the day. Today (so far) is sunny with some clouds, mid 70s with low humidity. The forecast says it will be really nice weather this week, so we're cautiously optimistic.
I will be writing updates in this space while we're here in camp. Check back often to see what might be new. There's is also a Google Photos album that we've been adding photos to since we arrived. You can access that from the "New Photo Albums" page.
Meanwhile, it's 10:00am, is it too early for ice cream? (The answer is No.)
Cheers,
Ken Neben

Thanks for the update Ken. Never too early for ice cream!
