On Saturday, July 26, we'll be heading out of camp for the day and treating the troop to a pizza lunch, a movie, and ice cream. It's a well-needed break from camp life before we begin our second week.

While we're out on the town, each scout will get a chance to call home.

Please make sure your scout has a card with phone numbers for him to call. He should have multiple numbers, in case the first call doesn't go through. (Note: It might be a good idea to have TWO cards - one kept in scout's wallet and another in his pack in case one card gets lost).

Calls are usually made between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

IMPORTANT: If the call drops, hang up and wait for your scout will call you right back.

ALSO IMPORTANT: If you miss your scout's call, don't worry. He will leave a voicemail, telling you that he'll try again later and give you an approximate time. Everybody gets to make contact at some point.

(The movie time is at 4:00pm, so if you miss the early call, the next try will be after the movie. We won't be making calls during the movie.)

LAST THING: Your scout will be calling using one of the adult leader's phone. If you've silenced unknown callers on your cell phone, you might want to turn that function off. We don't want technology getting in the way of talking to your scout. :)
