Let the Camping Commence!

Hello everybody,

I'm writing to you from the Johnson Scout Center here at Camp Aquehonga. This building holds the Commissary, where we pick up our food three times a day; the STEM Lab, which is a classroom for many merit badges; the camp admin office; and, most importantly, the Scoutmaster's Lounge (Coffee! WiFi!).

All of the scouts have settled into our camping site. The area is nice and big, and we've started making it home. The scouts are playing volleyball using just a cord tied from one tree to another as the net, they're playing whiffle ball, playing cards and other games, and coming up to the main parade grounds to play around up there.

Merit badge classes have started, and from the sound of it, they're all going well so far. Our very own Noah Cole is teaching many merit badges in the Scoutcraft area. He was also our Site Guide when we arrived. The swimming pool is also very nice, and many scouts (and leaders!) are taking advantage of the Troop Swim time there. Of course, the scouts are finding plenty of time to visit the Trading Post. I think blue raspberry is the flavor of choice for Slushees.

I hope everyone has had a chance to see the pictures that I'm posting in the Photo Gallery. I try to post pictures regularly so that everyone back home can see how we're doing.

That's my report for now. I hope to post again tomorrow, but will definitely post again by Wednesday.

Yours in Scouting, Ken
